The Temps

Live music 7 nights a week!

Sundays, 7:30pm - 11pm
Mon, Tue, Wed, 8pm - 11:30pm
Thursdays, 8:30pm - Midnight
Fri & Sat, 9pm - 12:30am

The Bard & Banker is one of the very few places in Victoria offering live music 7 nights a week with NO cover charge. We feature mostly local musicians from Victoria with others coming from surrounding islands and the mainland.

Sunday nights are "unplugged," drawing inspiration from the MTV Unplugged Series, where all the music was performed acoustic and interactive with the audience.

And with the baby grand piano on our stage, our entertainers have no bounds of musical repertoire. Playing from early evening to late night, there's plenty of time to pop in for a meal and some live musical entertainment or simply grab a night cap and catch up.

Next Playing Fri, May 31:
The Temps

NOTE: Friday, Dec 21st: Paul O'Brien will play an early opening show to 5-6pm.

A new band with old members, The Temps have quickly become one of the more talked about music acts in town.

Justin Hewitt (Vocals and Guitar) has been combining his love for music with his passion for technology since an early age. His solo career has earned him top spots in New Music West (2008), The International Songwriters Competition (2008), The Independent Music World Series (Semi-Finalist 2008), and most recently, (2011), he was a finalist in the Mount Doug Idol Competition where he performed with David Foster. His video for Close your Eyes, from his self named album has been played on Much Music, and Bravo.

Matt Johnson (Drums and Vocals) has played in the Juno award winning band 54-40 since 1985, and has recently been inducted into the Western Canadian Music Awards Hall of Fame. When he’s not on tour or in the studio with 54-40 you can find him playing with Tom Hooper (The Grapes of Wrath) in Tom and Matt. You can also see Matt playing with his other projects Run for Cover.

Ian McElroy (Bass and Vocals) has been playing music for as long as he can remember. In his career he has shared the stage and studio with Stereoplane, Justin Hewitt, Vince Vaccaro, Pat Steward (Bryan Adams, The Odds), John Andrews (Tegan and Sara), The Impostors (Justin Hewitt), and The Broken Strings (featuring Adam and Antonia from Jets Overhead). His band Stereoplane was chosen as the headline act for the Nanaimo VANOC Olympic Torch Relay for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The Temps play the classic hits by: The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, and Van Morrison, to modern rock from: The Tragically Hip, Foster the People, Radiohead, and U2.
